The mission of the THPPDD laboratory is to provide accurate and timely diagnostic and testing services for diseases and mycotoxin-related issues in small grain crops, corn, sorghum, cotton, hemp, vegetables, and other agricultural crops in support of AgriLife extension and research personnel, the Texas Department of Agriculture, agriculture/green industries, and growers in the Texas high plains region and surrounding areas in the production of safe and healthy foods in support of the people and economy of Texas. Diseases of ornamental plants and turfgrasses can also be diagnosed at the THPPDD laboratory.
Additional resources for plant disease diagnosis is the Texas Plant Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (TPDDL) located at the Texas A&M University campus at College Station, and the Texas Plant Virus Diagnostic Laboratory (TPVDL) located in Weslaco.
